Future Rules for Writing
I will always… read my pieces out loud before I turn them in.
I will always… try my best when writing any genre.
I will always… use the mini lessons that we have learned to perfect my writing.
I will always… brainstorm before writing anything to get the most out of my work.
I will always… write thoughtfully and throughly when writing anything.

Mini Lessons
I will return to the mini lessons about introductions and conclusions the most because of how I can use them for anything that I write. I also will re-visit the mini lesson about transitions because I not only want to get more practice, but I would like to get better at them in the future.
Writer's Notebook
Next year, I will create a new writer's notebook that I will use frequently, or whenever I have an idea. I will probably keep it in my backpack, so I always know where it is. This also ensures that I will have it with me a lot because I have my backpack with me most days.
Mentor Texts
I think that the mentor texts that I will refer back to are some of the poems. I was influenced by Girl in the Doorway greatly because I found it very interesting. Sometimes, I think about what my parents are feeling as they see me growing up, and I think that this poem helped me understand. I really enjoyed writing my literary analysis on it, and I hope that this poem stays with me for many more years.
My Process
If I have to follow my process (see the My Writing Process tab for more information) with a limited amount of time, I will probably get rid of some of the steps. As I have written above, I will always plan ahead what I am going to write. In the future, I will not be able to conference with Ms. Marchetti, so I will probably either have a friend read over it or try my best to pick out anything that needs to be changed.
